I have long been interested in depicting the figurative body and have been drawing self portraits since the age of 15. This is a habit I want to continue for decades to come as my body changes.

I have been exploring the concept of intimacy within myself and then expanding that to include intimacy with others. Connection is key to human survival and I have been experimenting with that compositionally. 

Oil pastel however are a fairly new medium to me. I started working with them at the beginning of my BA at Goldsmiths and have been experimenting and figuring out my own techniques that I enjoy. Colour-wise, I use the colours that call to me and fit the vibe of how I am feeling. I prefer to work on unprimed canvas nailed to the wall in whatever scale/ aspect ratio I can find. 

In the future I may potentially combine mediums and include embroidery on these works. I am also enjoying leaning into abstraction.
