The Being - Energy Series
The energy series explores the natural energies that flow through the world and manifesting them in physical forms.
At the time I was getting very into metal work and made two editions of tree branches from scrap metal in the workshop to be part of a sound installation.
I also explored and distorted photography of mushrooms – while researching mychorrizal networks.
Don't perceive me - Unravel
During this period I began to experience the classic feeling of lack of base you feel being uprooted in your 20s. To respond to this I went back to my childhood room and performed ‘Unravel’ to convey how I felt like I was unravelling at the seams.
On top of this the work is also an exploration of gender and the discomfort that comes with not identifying with your assigned gender at birth. This is further explored in Transformative Vessels.
Chains of thought
An early foundation project relating to ‘Don’t perceive me’ and ‘Unravel’. I conveyed this as literal aluminium chains, suspended from the ceiling and draping around a stream of consciousness.
Smoke then Dance - nightlife series
‘Smoke then Dance’ a hand-bound publication containing a selection of photographs I have taken at various queer raves in London from 2024-5.
Documented on my Fuji FinePix and some on film, there is minimal text apart from a statement at the end : ‘everyone in this book is trans’. I find this a beautiful fact.
